How do I hide the important folder on my mobile app? It doesn't show on my desktop.

I have turned off my important marker, and the folder no longer shows on my desktop, but it still shows on my iPhone mobile app. How do a set it to not show the important folder?

Thanks for the details. You can hide the Important label from the Labels tab under Gmail settings in the Gmail web UI, but it doesn't propagate over to the Gmail iOS or Android apps.

I have tested after turning sync off and then back on for the accounts; I have also checked after removing the account from the device altogether and then adding it back on, but it doesn't seem to happen.

My suggestion would be to submit feedback regarding this issue to the team using the Send Feedback option from the Gmail iOS app. The team is known to read all feedback submitted to them, although they may not respond back unless they desire additional information related to the topic of your feedback. The purpose of sending Feedback is to give the team a measure of the volume of users been affected by an issue or requesting a particular feature. The larger the volume of users asking for a feature or reporting a bug, the higher priority it assumes.
